Our Brain on media

I like watching horror films. I'm not afraid of watching horrors because these films teach us to be fearless and overcome the difficulties we face in our life. "The Mist" is my favorite one. The film is a real horror movie.I'd like to express the influences of three forms of brains on this film.
A quiet life in a small town. First everything is going well.Attractive nature, the happy life of a family, everything is in front of our eyes. first of all it touches the limbic part of my brain. Then everything is changed. It happens suddenly and we don't notice what happens.




Oh... My God! what a scary situation. The mist comes over the lake towards the town. It is dark, scary and even funny. Oh!! I can't breath. My heart is beating fast... My whole body is trembling. My eyes are opened. I have never had such a feeling. The mysterious mist!!! It influences to the reptilian part of my brain. I have negative emotions. The Mist brings monsters, strange creatures. The film doesn't show where they come from. We must use our imagination. When watching the film I can hear their voices,feel their thoughts and feelings. The film doesn't have a happy ending. The main character David Drayton did his best in order to find ways to escape them. It influences our neocortex brain. Imagine yourself in being such situation what would we do? Fear makes us do all which we think we could never do. at the end of the film I was nearly physically paralyzed. I felt myself among them for a while and I also had the same feelings as them. Then I realized that it wasn't a reality it's just like a dream.

MY MEDIA INVENTORY

1) BOOKS.Books are my friends. When I was a child my parents read stories to me. My favourite ones were "Malikmammed" , "Red Riding Hood". These stories are very popular among children. Then I began to read myself. By reading books I get a lot of information on many subjects. Reading books helps me to learn, think, feel and make my speech more elequent. Most of all I'm fond of reading adventure books, detective stories and historical novels. All the members of my family love books. We have a splendid library at my home. It includes the books in Azeri language, such as Nizami, Nasimi, Fizuli; in Russian language, L.Tolstoy, A.Pushkin; in English language M.Twain, J.London, A.Christie, W.Shakespeare. I prefer books by Nizami, Fizuli, J.London, A.Christie, M.Twain. These are some names in Azerbaijan and foreign literature that are very dear to me. I have read "Khamsa" by Nizami, "Leyli and Mejnun" by Fizuli, "The Mousetrap" by A.Christie, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by M.Twain. By the way I enjoy reading this book. In modern Azerbaijan literature I value C.Abdullayev. He is known as a detective writer. I have read some novels by him. At present I am reading one of his famous novel "Blue Angels". It is a dedective novel.

2) NEWSPAPERS AND MAGAZINES. I'm intersted in newspapers and magazines. Everyday my father buys different local newspapers. I look through these magazines and newspapers and read interesting articles. But I always read sport news. "Het-trik"-a football newspaper is my favourite one. It is published 3 times a week. Everytime I buy its edition. I always follow automobile news and my favourite magazine is "Auto Bild". It is published once a month. I have a big collection of "Auto Bild" at home. With the help of these magazines I know much about cars. If you ask I'll ready to answer all your questions about cars.

3) MUSIC. I'm fond of music. I listen to music not only when I'm free. In the morning I switch on the radio and have my breakfast listening to music. On the way to school I also listen to music because my walkman is always with me. I'm fond of very modern Azerbaijan and foreign singers. I enjoy to dance to music too. I play musical instrument. I play the tar-our national musical instrument. I like to listen to the music composed by the great Azerbaijan musicians U.Hajibeyov, Q.Qarayev, F.Emirov. Like many teenagers I like to listen to the famous groups-Linkin Park, Green day, H.O.S.T Alliance-local rap group H.O.S.T is the most favourite one to me. This group was created by 4 young men in May in 2006. Each letter in this name has its own meaning.H-"hava"-air, O-"od"-fire, S-"su"-water, T-"torpaq"-land. Their famous albom is "Red in Black". Also they have very famous songs-"Let's go", "Propoganda", "She will return", "Don't believe", "I don't want", "Return me", "Don't cry", "Labirint", "Esmiralda", "From us to you", "Baku" and others. In these songs they give the main problems of our society and they represent it very successfully. Nowadays this group is being loved by every young and teenagers.http//www.havaodsutorpaq.com.The second one is Linkin Park. It is remarkable, unique, simple brilliant group. Linkin Park has its fans in everywhere in Azerbaijan. This group was created in 1996. Since their formation the band has sold more 50 million alboms, won 2 Grammy Awards. Their famous alboms are: "Collussion Course", "Minutes to Midnight", "Live in Texas", "Meteora". Their songs that are loved by everyone are "Somewhere I belong", "From the inside", "Figure 09". Besides these groups I also have favourite singers-Kirach(Turkish), Roya (Azeri), Mansum Ibrahimov, Alim Qasimov (mugam singers-our national music), Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin.

4) Television. TV is a branch of mass media too. Nowadays watching TV became a social ritual. I have no time for watching TV for hours. As have a lot a lot of lessons to do I can't find time watching TV on weekdays, only weekends I can watch TV. I like to watch news programmes, talk shows and some films (without murders). During the Olympic Games TV is the main source for me to watch the games. My favorite TV programmes are "Auto Star", "Transmissiya" and comedys shows. My favourite TV channels in Azerbaijan are "ATV", "Lider", "ITV", sport channels, in the world are "NTV", "MTV", "Channel D", " Show TV" and others.

5) Video games. Games are very interesting. When I have free time I like to play games on computers. They are amusing. When I play games I have a strong will to be the winner. My favourite games are " Prince of Persia", " Call on duty", "Country Strike".

6) Computers. Computers are very important in our life. We need them everywhere. They make our life easier. I use my computer in different ways:to write reports, make Power Point presentations, play different games, listen to music, watch video files.I also use the computer as an electronic vocabulary.

7) Internet. It is a part of my life. I can't imagine my life without it. With the help of internet I can find information I need make new friends. I can virtually visit countries, cities and museums. I can easily visit web pages, see the photografhes of my favourite singers and music groups, send the letters by e-mail. One of the most interesting things for me is chat.I meet different people,communicate and enjoy my time. Now I have got a lot of friends from different countries. We all speak English.
